SLICED BAKING POTATOES

4 medium potatoes
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp melted butter
3 tbsp chopped fresh herbs of your choice or 3   tsp dried herbs

4 tbsp grated cheese
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese

Scrub potatoes.  Cut into thin slices, but not all the way through. Use the handle of a spoon to keep the knife from cutting all the way.  Fan potatoes slightly, sprinkle with salt, drizzle with butter, sprinkle with the herbs.  Bake at 425 for 50 minutes, sprinkle with cheeses then bake another 10 to 15 minutes.  Check tenderness with a fork to see if they are soft.
