Cabbage Salad

1 large head cabbage sliced
1 large green pepper sliced
1 large sweet onion sliced

 

Pour 1 cup sugar over top of layered mixture.

Bring to boil:

1 cup vinegar 
¾ cup oil 
1 tsp. celery seed 
1 tsp. dried mustard
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt

Pour mixture over cabbage. Seal container and allow to sit at least 4 hours before serving. Keeps for several weeks. Originally called for 2 cups sugar, but fine with 1.
