Cold Tomato Catsup
Mom, but I think this is Maa's recipe

1 peck of ripe tomatoes
2 large onions
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 pint salt

 

Peel tomatoes then cut up tomatoes, onions, and peppers very fine.  (No food processors then).  Add salt and let sit  ½ hour. Put in muslin bag and hang to drain for 24 hrs.  Squeeze the bag occasionally to remove juice.  Put the mixture in a bowl and add the following:

2 cups sugar
2 tbsp celery seed
4 tbsp mustard seed
1 qt vinegar

Then put in jars with aluminum foil under the caps.
