GREAT GRANDMOTHER’S STUFFING

For a 20 lb turkey.  Will make enough to stuff both cavities with enough left over for a casserole dish.  (Sprinkle turkey drippings over the stuffing in the dish.) Two large loaves of Pepperidge Farm Bread purchased several days ahead of time.  Remove crusts and shred with your hands into huge bowl.  Chop a very big onion fine and add.  Then add a stick of melted butter.  If it doesn’t look like enough, add more.  Then salt and pepper, then chopped fresh sage.  I chop it in my baby Cuisenart.  I grow sage just to use for the dressing because it is much better than dried.  Wipe turkey cavities as dry as possible, then stuff loosely.  (This is the way I got the recipe, except for the fresh sage).
