STRAWBERRY CAKE
Mom

½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
¾ cup milk

1 ½ cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
salt
vanilla

Cream ½ the sugar and butter, add egg yolks, then alternately add milk and sifted dry ingredients. Beat egg whites till stiff then beat in other half of sugar.  Fold this into the mixture.  Bake in 9x13 pan at 350.

Sauce: (a real no-no today, but wonderful)

¾ cup butter, 1½ cups sugar, 3 cups strawberries.  Cream butter and sugar till very creamy. Add berries, a few at a time, crushing and mixing as you go.
