Mom's Pie Crust
From Mom: given to me with a rolling pin at my kitchen shower
Makes 2 crusts
¾ cups shortening 1 tsp salt 2 tsp. Milk |
¼ cup boiling water 2 cups flour |
Pour boiling water over shortening, milk and salt. Whip with fork until smooth. Mix flour in with fork. Roll out between sheets of wax paper. This way you don’t have to keep adding flour, which makes it tough, to keep it from sticking. If baking without a filling, bake at 425. Either put dry beans on crust to keep it from puffing up or watch it and prick with a fork when that starts to happen. Or go to the store and buy a crust :).
