Mom’s (or Maa’s?) Thin Biscuits (from Joy of Cooking?)

Ed. note: I guess these are the one's Maa made all the time. Best with thinly sliced country ham or lots of butter while still hot.

2 cups flour
3 t baking powder
1 t salt

 

Sift together in a bowl. 

Cut in about ¼ cup shortening or butter. Add 2/3 cup milk and mix with fork. 

Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. 

Bake about 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
